Why we work this way
Good work needs room.
Most creative work goes wrong in the same place. Too many projects run at once, the brief gets summarised down a chain, and by the time anything is made the original intent has been sanded off. What arrives is competent and completely forgettable.
SJ Creative was set up to avoid that. We take on a small number of projects, and the person who sits in your first call is the person doing the work. Nothing is handed off. Nothing gets diluted in translation.
That also changes how we charge. Because there is no volume to protect, we do not need deposits to hold a slot. We deliver a milestone, you review it, we revise it until it does the job, and only then does an invoice go out. If it never gets there, it is not billed.
The result is slower to start and considerably faster to finish, because decisions get made while they are still cheap to change.
We would rather turn down a project than take one we cannot give proper attention.

Plain answers, in writing
Scope, timeline and cost are written down before work starts. If something changes, you hear about it when we notice, not when you get the invoice.
We will tell you no
If a direction will not work, or you are buying more than the problem requires, we say so. Agreeing with everything is not a service.
The files are yours
Source files, fonts, licences and access are handed over at the end of the engagement. Nothing is held back to keep you tied to us.
Built to be used
Work is made to survive real conditions: a phone screen, a printer, a team member who was not in the meeting. Not just a nice presentation.
